The West Plains Zizzers are taking on the Forsyth Panthers tonight, Friday, December 13, 2024.
The Forsyth Panthers start the game with the ball after winning the tip-off. The Panthers and Zizzers are fairly even in their playing, staying tied for most of the first quarter of the game. With 2 minutes and 47 second left of the quarter the Zizzers score three-pointer and a two-pointer, giving them a 5 point lead in the beginning of the game. The two teams make a last minute effort for the lead, leaving the first quarter with a score of 13 to 11, Zizzers in the lead.
The second quarter starts with a quick score on the Panthers side, bringing the game to a tie, but the Zizzers quickly respond with a three-pointer, taking the lead again. the Zizzers play a hard game, continuously scoring and keeping the ball from the Forsyth Panthers, the score at 25 to 18 at with 4 minutes left of the second quarter. The Zizzers make their fourth three-pointer in the second quarter giving the Zizzers a double digit lead, with a score of 34 to 23. The first half of the game ends with the Panthers making a three and leaving the score with the Zizzers in the lead with a score of 34 to 26.
The third quarter starts off with a basket by the Panthers. The Panthers score another point so after, cutting into the Zizzers lead, bring the score to 34 to 30. The Zizzers follow up with a three-pointer, again widening the gap a little with a score of 37 to 30. The Panthers really bring their A-game to the second half, slowly eating away the Zizzers lead while the Zizzers struggle to hold onto it, with only a two point lead o 41 to 39. Not giving in, the Zizzers fight back taking the gap wider and back up to a 9 point lead. Right as the buzzer sounds, the Panthers score a point from half court, ending the 3rd quarter with a score of 48 to 44.
The Zizzers pull forward again to that 9 point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The Zizzers continue to pull ahead again, not wanting to loose sight of the win with only 3 minutes left of the game to go. Multiple time-outs drag out the ending of the last quarter, each team trying to find an advantage. The end of the game ends with the Zizzers in the lead with a score of 69 to 58.
