The West Plains Zizzers opened the Willard Basketball Classic on Wednesday night, falling to Springfield Catholic 75–65. The game stayed close until the fourth quarter, when Catholic pulled ahead for good.
Jared Kraft led West Plains with 24 points. Josiah Long added 16, Jacob Moore 12, Seth Miller 7, and both Caleb Cobb and Liam Gray scored 3 each.

West Plains moves to the consolation bracket and will play again Friday night at 7 p.m. against an opponent still to be determined.
