On Friday night District Semi-Final games took place in the state of Missouri and four local teams have all advanced.
West Plains defeated Monett 39-26, in a game that went back and forth most of the night. The Zizzers will remain home for the District Championship game versus Carl Junction who they pulled out a win over in the final regular season game by scoring two late 4th quarter touchdowns.
The Liberty Eagles met an old foe in their semi-final game as they hosted the Ava Bears. Ava came in to the game off of a upset victory over Fair Grove one week ago. This night belonged to the Eagles who jumped out to a huge first half lead and never looked back winning 55-14. The Eagles will face Forsyth who upset the two seed Catholic 33-29.
Please send up some prayers for an Ava Bears running back who was injured in the game and was taken from the field by ambulance.
The Mountain Grove Panthers had no problem handling their semi-final matchup as they faced SCA foe Salem and won going away 55-0. They will be hosting Clever in the District Final next Friday night.
The Thayer Bobcats hosted the Pierce City Eagles on Friday night and advance to the district final after a 60-15 victory. The Marionville Comets will travel to Thayer after they defeated Miller for a matchup of the number one (Thayer) and number two (Marionville) ranked teams in the state in Class 1.
