Team USA closed the 2026 Winter Olympics on a high note — powered by a dramatic hockey win.
The Americans captured their 12th gold medal of the Milan-Cortina Games when the men’s hockey team beat Canada 2-1 in overtime– the country’s strongest gold-medal showing of the Games.
The victory not only ended a 46-year drought in men’s Olympic hockey, it also pushed the U.S. to second place overall behind Norway in both golds and total medals.
Norway topped the medal table with 18 golds.
