On October 17, 2025, the 5-2 West Plains Zizzers hosted the 3-4 Marshfield Jays. West Plains started the contest with the ball and a strong run game. They were able to punch it in from 3 yards out on a Jackson Hunter run to make the score 6-0 after the failed extra point. The Jays answered with a 4th down trick play to take the 7-6 lead.
This score would hold until The Zizzers scored a touchdown on a 23-yard throw and catch from Ethan Miller to Jacob Moore. The point after was unsuccessful. After a Marshfield field goal, Miller found Moore in the end zone again, this time from 35 yards out to make the score 18-10 in the Zizzers’ favor midway through the second quarter. A Jaxon Hunter interception for a touchdown allowed the Zizzers to increase their lead to 26-10 after a successful 2-point conversion. A Josiah Long interception gave the Zizzers the ball back before Jacob Moore scored his third touchdown of the half to give the Zizzers a 32-10 lead at halftime.
Marshfield opened the second half with a big return and a 2-yard touchdown to gain some second half momentum. However, this momentum was short lived when the West Plains defense forced two second half fumbles before Ethan Miller scored from a yard out to make the score 39-17. A West Plains punt return for a touchdown and a long Marshfield score ended the scoring as the clock ran for most of the 4th quarter and the score ended at 46-23 in West Plains’ favor.
