A West Plains High School athlete has made school history by qualifying for the Class 3 State Wrestling Championship Tournament. Sophomore William Colvin secured his spot after earning a fourth‑place finish at the Class 3 District 3 Tournament in Bolivar over the weekend.

Colvin will compete at the state tournament on Friday, February 27, and Saturday, February 28, at Mizzou Arena in Columbia. His qualification marks a milestone for the program, as he becomes the first male Zizzer wrestler to advance to the State Wrestling Tournament.
School officials say they are proud of Colvin’s hard work, determination, and the way he represents West Plains wrestling.
