Willow Springs, MO. – Sergeant Eddie Young of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G spoke to us here at Ozark Radio News after they received reports of individuals being targeted by a new scam that involves the impersonation of a Highway Patrolman.
The scam involves the scam artist claiming that there is a member of the Highway Patrol requesting payment from an individual on an outstanding warrant. This is of course, false, and no representative of an agency will call you by phone and ask for payments. Sergeant Young suggests if you hear someone contacting you impersonating a patrolman, simply hang up.
If you or anyone you know have information on this scam, report it to the Missouri State Highway Patrol at (417) 469-3121
