City of West Plains issues Peak Energy Alert

At noon, February 15, 2021, the City of West Plains issued a peak energy alert.

The freezing temperatures are wreaking havoc on the electric grid for the City of West Plains, as well as other utility providers. A PEAK ALERT has been issued and we are urging citizens to try to keep thermostats at 68 degrees or cooler, try to not do laundry, and limit major appliance usage. Try to limit or not use personal heaters as well. Together, we will get through this. We must do our part to conserve our energy. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
