Ava, MO – An intoxicated woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Thursday, October 1, 2021.
The incident occurred on Highway 76 three miles west of Goodhope in Douglas County at 11:32 p.m. A 1995 Chevy Lumina driven by Celena Clouse, 29 of Ava, traveled off the left side of the road and struck a tree. She had suffered moderate injuries during the crash. During the investigation of the crash, it was determined that Clouse was intoxicated and charged with Driving while Intoxicated and Failure to drive on the Right Half of the Roadway. She was then released and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for medical treatment. Clouse had been wearing a safety device.
