Law Enforcement Ramp Up Activity With Upcoming Holiday

As Saint Patrick’s is coming up, local law enforcement wants to let the public know that they’ll be increasing their activity in order to keep their communities safe. Crashes involving intoxicated drivers kill nearly 11,000 people each year. If you’re drinking, designate a non-drinking driver before you start, call a cab, or get a ride home.

Lt. Jason Long with the Howell County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public to act responsibly this holiday:

While you’re out enjoying the holiday, keep in mind there are services designed to help people get home safely. Do your research. Find out if a transportation service exists near you, and sparing that, designate a driver to ensure that everyone gets home safely. When you drive while intoxicated, you become a danger to not only yourself, but to everyone else on the road.
