Ozella Jeanette Walker was born to Orin and Winita (Gould) Butcher on April 12, 1938, in Montier, Missouri. She went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. Ozella was united in marriage to Leon Walker, and to this union three children were born, Janet, Mark, and Brett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; her parents, Orin and Winita Butcher; brother Thurman Butcher and wife, Jean; and sixteen brothers and sisters-in-law and their spouses.
Survivors include her three children, Janet Chowning and husband, Mike of Mountain View, MO; Mark Walker and wife, Charlotte of Bakersfield, MO, and Brett Walker and wife, Angela of Derby, KS; nine grandchildren, Tyler (Dustey) Chowning, Ryan (Candice) Chowning, Kelsi (Brady) Yates, Grace (Jeff) Weseloh, Abigail Walker, Grant (Megan) Walker, Ryan Walker, Ben Walker, and Landon Walker; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Ozella was a member of the Birch Tree Methodist Church and was currently attending the Church of the Nazarene in Mountain View. She was previously a member of the Fidelis Club, was an Honor Flight Guardian, and volunteered at the Good Samaritan Clinic, local blood drives, and at St. Francis-Mercy Hospital. She also volunteered at local elections and with Leon in various other community events. Ozella loved to travel all the time and collect knick-knacks for her grandkids. She enjoyed buying anything that was on sale and loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She never missed an important family event!
Ozella was known for her hospitality, and she made many friends during her travels which were always welcomed into her home. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
