Gainesville, MO. – Two students from Dora are being honored and celebrated for a good deed they performed recently that showed exemplary citizenship.
The student pair, Mia Gray and Natasha Slavik, found the counterfeit and immediately gave it to the Dora School Resource Officer, Deputy Jeremy McKee.
The Ozark County Sheriff Cass Martin stopped into the school to take pictures with the students and give them personal thanks. In a recent announcement, the Sheriff’s Office stated:
“The actions of these students highlight the value of honesty and integrity within our community. We are extremely proud of Mia and Natasha for choosing to do the right thing. Counterfeit currency, like the one they discovered, can cause significant damage to financial institutions and our overall economy.”
The Sheriff’s Office went on to state they are currently investigating the source of the counterfeit bill, and are asking anyone with information to provide it.
