The Detroit Tigers scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to beat the Royals 3-2 in Kansas City. Detroit trailed by two entering the frame, but Matt Vierling smoked a two-run double to put the Tigers up for good. Brendan White was credited with his second win in relief, and Alex Lange earned his 15th save. Detroit has won three of its last four games. Taylor Clarke was charged with his fourth loss out of the bullpen. Kansas City has dropped three of four.
