Vickie Swann Burgin, 61 of Elk Creek, MO passed away on Jan. 12, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. She was born on April 24, 1962 in Austell, GA the daughter of Roy and Loree (Shepherd) Swann.
Vickie was a wonderful cook and loved making wonderful meals for family and friends; her door was always open to help friends in need. Vickie had at one time started classes to be a veterinarian; she loved all animals, but especially her horses. Vickie’s love for her family was the greatest though, so she dedicated her time to being a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She lived her dream, tending to her beloved horses and garden on her small homestead.
Vickie gave her life to Jesus the week before she passed. Vickie was known for speaking her mind and did not shy away from letting you know her opinion. So we know when she gave her heart to Jesus that day, she meant every word.
Vickie was preceded by sons, Dusty Swann and Richard Burgin. She is survived by her husband, Melvin Burgin of the home; her children, Jessica DeFoor, Stacey Swann and Melvin Burgin, Jr.; brothers, Barry Swann and Royce Swann of Springfield, MO and Sean Swann of Lula, GA; sisters, Debbie Lane of Calhoun, GA and Charlotte Luffman of Armuchee, GA; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
