West Plains School District Releases Additional Safety Update

West Plains, MO. – In an effort of transparency with all cases of security in the West Plains School District, officials have released a safety updated dated for yesterday, April 22nd.

Dear West Plains School District Parents,

This afternoon, the district became aware of a middle school student who allegedly sent out a photo of a weapon on social media. This student was not in attendance today and law enforcement was contacted and is investigating. To reiterate, this did not happen at school and the student was not in attendance.

Thank you to those students and patrons who bring events such as this to our attention. Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our students and staff members.

This is currently all the details we have, but if you have any other information, please contact law enforcement.
