On Tuesday May 13th officer Brent Keepes of the West Plains Police Department responded to a residence on North Terra for a reported domestic disturbance. The Probable cause statement said the witness stated that the suspect, Cody Willbanks, became belligerent
during an argument with her. The victim, attempted to intervene and deescalate the situation, at which point a physical altercation occurred between the two brothers.
The victim stated that Willbanks struck him multiple times in the face and head. The victim had visible injuries, including a contusion and laceration near his right eye. The victim reported that he acted in self-defense pushing and physically restrained Willbanks to stop the assault. Willbanks was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Domestic Assault.
