Employees Recognized at Willow Springs Council Meeting

The Willow Springs Board of Aldermen met for their regular council session on Thursday, May 15, at City Hall Council Chambers with Mayor Adam Webb presiding. All aldermen and key city officials were present.

Following the approval of the agenda and consent items, the meeting featured notable employee recognitions. Dawson Bunch was honored for earning his Class C and B wastewater treatment licenses and was promoted to Wastewater Treatment Supervisor following the retirement of Robert Rackley. Kim McCormick was also recognized for her 10 years of service as secretary for the Fire Department, receiving a certificate for her dedication.

Priority Pet Care – Make An Appointment

Under existing business, the council an ordinance revising parking regulations to allow business owners to park adjacent to their businesses along Main Street. The ordinance passed unanimously and is expected to take effect August 1 after signage updates and public education. In new business, City Clerk Heather Tooley reported that 10 businesses had not renewed their 2025 licenses, prompting the Council to proceed with personal service notices, consistent with past procedures.

The Council also appointed five new members to the Public Safety Advisory Committee: Kim McCormick, Brendon Wilson, Greg Chaney, Dean Aye, and Dylan Carter.

A new welcome sign project at the city’s three-way near Love’s Travel Stop was also approved, with the Council voting to allocate up to $5,500 in funding, including the use of $3,100 in restricted community funds. The project will be a joint effort between the City, Restore Hope, and the Chamber Ambassadors.
