High School district baseball scores from yesterday. Class 2 District 2 Championship game Van Buren over East Carter 6-0. Class 2 District 10 Championship game Gainesville over Bakersfield 8-2. Class 3 District 10 championship Game Fair Grove over Ava 7-6. Class 3 district 9 semi finals Licking over Houston 11-0 and Thayer over Liberty 2-1, Licking will play Thayer in the Championship game today at Houston 430 for the first pitch. In class 1 district 4 Dora plays Summersville at 6pm tonight in the semifinals at Hurley. In class 1 district 3 Winona plays Bunker the winner of that game will get Naylor in the semifinals, Eminence plays South Iron winner advances to the Championship game.
High School State Golf meet in class 2 Willow Springs finished in 5th place shooting a two-day total of 690 Blayne Altermatt was the low scorer for Willow Springs with a 167. In class 4 West Plains finished tied for 6th place with a team score of 651 West Plains low scorer Aaron Joshua Stevenson with a two day total of 153 tied for 11th overall.
June 14th and 15th the Willow Springs Lions Club will host a two-man scramble at the Willow Springs Thomas F. Benyo Municipal Golf Course. This tournament will feature tee times of 8:30 and 1:30 and will pay out four places in each flight, number of flights to be determined by number of entries. Due to the Hailstorm that went through Willow Spring on Friday the course will be closed this week for repairs. Massive hailstones covered the greens causing damage so sever the city is forced to close it down so repairs can be made also to heal time for the greens. No leagues this week or play. We will let you know when the course opens back up.
On Tuesday July 29 Zizzer Football will be having their Night of Champions Iron Zizzer at 5pm in the Zizzer Athletic Training Center. This is a great night to come out and see Zizzer players perform in the weight room.
