William Lynn Comer, 66 years, 3 months, and 8 days old, entered into Heaven on May 12, 2025. His family was by his side.
Bill was born February 4, 1959, in Springfield, Missouri, to John “Paul” and Leona (Silvey) Comer.
Bill was raised on his family farm near Brownbranch, Missouri, and graduated from Bradleyville High School in 1977.
On June 30, 1978, Bill and Barbara (Snowden) Horner were united in marriage in Bradleyville, Missouri, and were blessed with two children, Cindy and Dustin.
Bill spent most of his career in sales and was a devoted minister, pastoring several churches in the area over the years. He was a talented singer and songwriter, and used these talents to glorify his Lord and Savior. He founded the southern gospel group, “Witness” which traveled and ministered for several years.
He loved fishing. His fishing trips to Canada were the highlight of each year. Nothing made him happier than spending time with family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jeannie Cummins and her husband, Ron, his brother, Robert “Bob” Comer, and brother-in-law, Doyle Humbyrd.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Cindy and husband, Tony Todd, and his son, Dustin and wife, Kerry Comer; grandchildren, Kambria, Pablo, Arica, Daniel, Ridge, and Brighton; siblings, Frances Humbyrd, Juanita (Harold) Menzies, and John (Brenda) Comer, sister-in-law, Bobbie Comer; a host of family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life for Bill will be Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 6:30 P.M. at New Vision General Baptist Church, 179 Church Camp Road, Taneyville, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastors Neal Crum and “Butch” McCleary with a tribute by Doug Miller. A private family burial will be at a later date. Family requests memorials may be made to the Gideon’s International.
