Howell County Man Arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Four More Felonies

According to a Probable Cause Statement Tuesday June 3rd, 2025 Howell County Deputies traveled to the Mountain View area for a civil dispute where Justin Kimbell claimed to purchase a revolver from someone and after finding out he was a convicted felon refused to give him his money back.

While Enroute dispatch received a call from the other party (victim) asking to speak to officers.  While searching for her address Kimball was observed driving a red SUV with no registration.  Officers conducted a stop and placed him under arrest for driving while revoked.  The Deputy noticed a strong odor of intoxicants and when given a breathalyzer he registered a .309 blood alcohol content (less that .08 is state law) after a field test was given he was also charged with Felony DWI.

During this time Officer Barnes made contact with the victim and she reported that in April 2025 she was giving Kimball a ride back from West Plains when he suddenly started talking crazily and pulled out a black powder revolver, he put it to her head and pulled back the hammer.  When she heard the hammer pulled back she swiped the gun away from her head as he fired the weapon resulting in powder burns to her hand and face in which she provided photos.  This statement matched an observation of bullet holes in the vehicle.

Justin Kimball is charged with a total of five felonies including:

Assault 1st Degree

Discharging a Firearm at or from a Moving Vehicle

Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

DWI Persistent Offender

Armed Criminal Action

Kimball is being held in the Howell County Jail with a $25,000 Bond.
