Howard J. Wolford

Howard Wolford, age 80, son of Joe and Jean Wolford was born on April 20, 1945, in Houston, MO. He died May 25, 2025, at his home in Bucyrus, MO.

Howard was preceded in death by his two wives, Linda and his second wife Carolyn, his parents, and sister Christine Williams.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Rose) Wolford of Mountain View, MO; sister Carol Brown of White Hall, IL; brothers, Tom of Olive Branch, MS, and Steven of San Antonio, TX; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

Howard graduated from Houston High School in 1964 and attended Southwest Missouri State University before going on active duty in the United States Army. After completing his commitment, including a yearlong tour in Vietnam, he returned to Houston, working with his father at Wolford Monument Company. Howard sold the business in 2023 after 54 years. Howard joined the Missouri National Guard and completed 20 years of service, retiring as a Sergeant First Class.

Howard was a member of the First Baptist Church of Houston and received Christ at an early age.

Howard enjoyed family and was always interested in accomplishments of all family members. His two passions were flying and motorcycling. He would fly his Mooney plane at every chance. He enjoyed month long cycling trips from Maine to Sturgis.
