Funeral Services for Ruth Marie Shelton, Age 95 of Texas County, Missouri will be held on Thursday, March 5th, 2026 at The Evans Funeral Home, Houston, Missouri, beginning at 11:00 AM. Visitation will follow the service, beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in The Sunset Lane Cemetery, Success, Missouri
Ruth Marie (Price) Shelton, age 95, was born on March 19, 1930, in Success, MO, to Frank and Amanda (Dutton) Price. She passed away on March 1, 2026, at her home in Success.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ray Price and Harold Price; and her husband, William Shelton.
She is survived by two children, Bonnie Jo Pittman of Success, MO and Karla Mansfield, of Houston, MO; three grandchildren, Traci Hawkins of Alabama, Michael Easley and David Easley, both of Springfield; four great grandchildren, Shelby Hawkins and Seth Hawkins of Alabama, and Cara Easley and Lillian Easley of Ohio.
Ruth was a life-long member of Union Free Will Baptist Church. She was a pianist for years and served as treasurer from 1968 until the time of her passing.
She was employed for 30 years at Fort Leonard Wood, MO as a civil service, Military Pay Supervisor.
She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, and fishing. Later, she enjoyed puzzles and Sudoku. She was known for hosting church visitors with lunch.
Ruth will be missed by everyone who knew her.
