Same Driver Arrested Twice for DWI in Separate Incidents.

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the same individual on two separate occasions for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), following independent traffic stops conducted two weeks apart.
Incident 1: May 31, 2025
At approximately 2:47 AM, Deputy Kory Taylor conducted a traffic stop on a green GMC Jimmy traveling on Garner Boulevard in West Plains. The vehicle had a non-functioning registration light and was observed swerving within its lane.
The driver was identified as Jacob Wittwer, 44 of West Plains. Upon contact, Wittwer stated he had consumed alcohol earlier in the evening. Deputy Taylor conducted a series of tests and found significant indicators of impairment. Wittwer was arrested and transported to the Howell County Jail, where he submitted a breath sample which revealed he had a Blood Alcohol Content of .247%.
Incident 2: June 14, 2025
At approximately 9:26 PM, Deputy Taylor again initiated a traffic stop on the same green GMC Jimmy, this time on County Road 8800 in the West Plains area, once again due to a non-functioning registration light.
The driver was once again identified as Jacob Wittwer. Upon contact, Wittwer stated he had consumed alcohol earlier in the evening. Deputy Taylor conducted a series of tests and again found indicators of impairment. Wittwer was arrested and transported to the Howell County Jail, where he submitted a breath sample which revealed he had a Blood Alcohol Content of .181%.
On both occasions, Wittwer was booked into the Howell County Jail and charges were referred to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office for Driving While Intoxicated.
