Attorney General Bailey Files Charges Against Contractor Accused of Exploiting Elderly Missourians

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has announced criminal charges against Harlin Dilday Jr., a home repair contractor accused of financially exploiting an elderly homeowner in Versailles, Missouri.

Dilday Jr., the owner of “D&D Outdoors” and “Dilday & Sons,” is facing one felony count of financial exploitation of the elderly and one count of deceptive business practices. The charges were filed in Morgan County Circuit Court following an investigation by the Attorney General’s Office.

According to the complaint, Dilday Jr.’s company approached a homeowner in February 2025 offering asphalt and tree trimming services for an agreed price of $1,000. After performing the work, however, the company allegedly demanded $15,000 instead.

Bailey emphasized that the charges are allegations, and Dilday Jr. is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
