Women’s Basketball Unveils Non-Conference Schedule

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball announced its nonconference schedule on Tuesday, unveiling the dates and opponents of its 15-game slate.

The schedule features nine home games, two matchups against in-state opponents and the return of the StorageMart Border Showdown.

Missouri begins the new season against Central Arkansas on November 3 at Mizzou Arena. The opener will be followed by the first road trip to face Tulane on November 6.

November 15 will mark the return of the Border Showdown as Mizzou will face Kansas in the regular season for the first time since 2012 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The two rivals last met in the 2023 Women’s National Invitation Tournament.

The Tigers will spend a significant portion of November in Florida as they face Washington State in the WBCA Showcase on November 23 in the Wide World of Sports Complex in Disney World.

Mizzou will then travel to Ft. Myers, Fla., during Thanksgiving break, to battle Bradley on November 28 and Northwestern on November 29 in the Ft. Myers Tip-Off.

Upon returning home, the Tigers will take on Cal in the SEC/ACC Challenge on December 3.

Missouri will welcome Illinois to Columbia on December 10 for the Braggin’ Rights contest before traveling to St. Louis to face the Billikens on December 14.

The Tigers will close the non-conference slate at home against North Alabama on December 21 and Kansas City on December 28.

Ahead of the season opener, Missouri is slated to face Maryville in an exhibition contest on October 28 in Mizzou Arena.

This season marks head coach Kellie Harper’s first year at the helm of the program.

In March, Harper became the fifth coach in Mizzou program history. In 20 seasons as a Division I head coach, Harper has led her teams to a 393-260 record with nine NCAA Tournament berths. She has piloted her squads to 15 top-three league finishes and four conference tournament championships. Including her playing career at Tennessee, Harper has 11 seasons of SEC experience. In 2022-23, Harper led the Lady Volunteers to the NCAA Sweet 16 for a second consecutive season.

Grace Slaughter enters her junior season to headline the Tigers’ new-look roster. 2024-25 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, ranked 18th in the SEC with 15.0 points a season ago while also contributing 3.6 rebounds.

The reloaded roster will also feature seven impactful transfer additions, Chloe Sotell (Pepperdine), Jayla Smith (Purdue), Lisa Thompson (Rutgers), Sydney Mains (Florida Atlantic), Shannon Dowell (Illinois State), Jordana Reisma (Cleveland State) and Saniah Tyler (Kentucky) and freshman Reka Toman.

Tip times and television designations for all contests will be released at a later date.
