This morning, Wednesday August 27th, a Gainesville student was found to be in possession of a firearm, the school released this statement:
The Statement reads:
“This morning a firearm was discovered in the possession of a student on Gainesville R-V school property. The incident was handled immediately and without disruption. At no time was there a threat made towards students or staff.
In accordance with Missouri’s State Schools Act, law enforcement was contacted, the firearm was secured, and the student’s parents were notified. The student was removed from school pending further review.
The safety of the students and staff is our top priority, and we will continue to follow all required legal and disciplinary procedures.
