Adam Frazier belted a two-run homer in the eighth inning to put the Kansas City Royals ahead for good in a 7-5 win over the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday night, snapping Seattle’s 10-game winning streak.
Lucas Erceg (8-4) got the win despite surrendering J.P. Crawford’s game-tying homer in the eighth. Carlos Estévez gave up a run in the ninth but closed it out for his MLB-leading 40th save.
Cole Ragans, making his first start since June 5 after a stint on the IL with a strained left rotator cuff, allowed two runs on one hit over 3 2/3 innings with four strikeouts and two walks. He opened the game by firing six straight strikes and striking out the side on 10 pitches in the first inning.
