The Missouri State University West Plains Grizzly Basketball team broke ground on their 32nd overall season this past Saturday night as they faced the Link Year Prep Lions from Branson, Missouri.

Grizzlies played remarkable offensive game with the majority of leading scorers being new transfers. They win the match, 104-57
1st Half: George Richardson for the Link Lions wins the tips and gives the Lions an early 7-2 lead. The first 5 points for the Grizzlies are scored by #1 Tyrell Smith and # 5, Shaun Glass. It’s tied at 9-9 as Richardson makes two more buckets for the Lions and two more by #1, Smith. A bucket is also good by #24 Dassiah Green, a new point guard from Springfield. Another rebound by #5, Shaun Glass as the Lions keep. Lions run into just a bit of foul trouble and this allows #11, Makai Lindsey, a new guard from Edincott, NY to score some points. Make it a 20 point lead as Lindsey shoots two at the line. Brody Gillespie is the next shooter for the Link Lions as the Grizzlies intensify nearly a ten point lead. #1 Tyrell Smith and #11, Makai Lindsey are the leading scorers within the first seven minutes.
Grizzlies also making strides on defense as the new addition of Smith as he makes another great block and pass to #11, Lindsey. Lindsey gets a pass off to #5, Shaun Glass who gets two threes in a row. #4, Ace Evans scores his second bucket for the Grizzlies. Fisher James scores the next bucket for the Lions, but stolen and back in for two by the new Grizzly transfer, #14, Gustav Blauenfeldt. Lions will end the First half at the free throw line as Brody Gillespie shoots two more. Plus two more by #20, Damani Barley, the new Grizzly transfer Guard from Rochester, NY.
HALFTIME- MSU-West Plains Grizzlies: 50/ Link Year Prep: 28
2nd Half: The Lions take off with the ball to start the second half as Judah Louderback gets a block on the first offensive set. But then #1 Smith gets a good three for the Grizzlies plus several good passes as the Grizzlies start the half with five guards on the floor. Grizzlies pull within as many as 75 as #14, Gustav Blauenfeldt comes to have at least as many points as score leaders, #1, Tyrell Smith & #11, Makai Lindsey.
Grizzlies continue to fight off The Lions on defense. Loudenback and Gillespie continue to make some high pressure moves to the hoop. Like many matches such as this; A fair amount of points in the last few minutes were scored at the free throw line. Both teams went at it hard at the line.
But overall; The Grizzlies were able to outscore the Lions 104-57 as the Final score in the Ballgame. A game in which contained a greater offensive intensity than any games from the previous season.
Grizzlies will travel to Central Oklahoma on Monday, November 3rd to Face Seminole State College @ 10:AM. Also on Tuesday, November 4th they will face Northern Oklahoma College also @ 10: AM
