On October 30, 2025, Rose G. Gear, age 30 of Springfield, was arrested by Sgt. Aaron Box, after he received a call of a female walking in the middle of W. 76 Highway with a knife. Gear was arrested without incident.
Gear had been the center of a harassment investigation by Lt. Nelson, where Gear had been threatening to kill multiple people.
Gear was placed on a 24-hour hold, where a warrant was obtained for 3 counts of Harassment 1st Degree. Bond was set at $5000 cash only.
Gear is currently incarcerated in the Douglas County Jail.
