Felony Drug Trafficking, Gun Charges for Mountain Grove Suspect

A Mountain Grove man is facing multiple felony charges after a Douglas County grand jury indicted him on allegations of drug trafficking and unlawful firearm possession.

According to court documents, Kenneth Owen Chamberlain is charged with first degree trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is also charged with resisting arrest.

Deputies allege that on October 18, Chamberlain knowingly possessed methamphetamine and items consistent with distribution, including a scale and baggies. He is also accused of possessing a firearm while being prohibited from doing so due to previous felony convictions.

The indictment states Chamberlain has several prior felony convictions from other Missouri jurisdictions, including drug possession and unlawful use of a weapon.

Following his arrest, Chamberlain appeared before the court where bond conditions were set. Those conditions include:

• No firearms or ammunition

• No illegal drugs or alcohol

• Twice-weekly testing

• No driving without a valid license and insurance

• Restricted travel, including a requirement that he not be in Douglas County except for court or attorney visits

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
