The National Weather Service in Springfield is calling for increased fire potential today.
This is due to high-speed wind and dry conditions after cold weather creating strong conditions for fires to get out of hand.

While these conditions are in effect, experts ask that residents of the Ozarks be careful when burning anything, and to watch your fires with a water hose nearby for quick extinguishing should fire attempt to spread.
