Westbound Interstate 44 was temporarily shut down during wire removal operations when a chain-reaction crash involving seven vehicles occurred. According to authorities, A 41-year-old Eminence man operating a 1998 Kenworth W900, failed to maintain a proper lookout and attempted to avoid a vehicle by steering left. This maneuver initiated a series of collisions:
- The Kenworth struck the rear left corner of a 2023 Ford Ranger, then the rear left side of a 2020 RAM 1500 then continued forward, striking the rear of a 2006 Chrysler Sebring, which was pushed into the side of a 2004 Ford F250. The semi then struck the rear of a 2021 RAM 1500 driven by a 82-year-old Mountain Home man, which was pushed into 2025 Chevrolet Trax.
All drivers were adults and reported wearing seat belts. No serious injuries were noted in the report.
