Marion County Releases Law Enforcement Activity Summary

MARION COUNTY, Ark. — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has released its weekly activity report for the week ending November 21, detailing call responses, investigations, training and detention operations.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to 83 calls for service during the week. Among those were six wellness checks. One misdemeanor arrest was made, and no felony arrests were reported. Deputies also assisted with or investigated five accidents and completed 24 incident reports. A total of 14 bailiff hours were logged.

Eight deputies, along with surrounding agencies, attended a six-hour Use of Force class at the James A. Gaston Visitor Center. The training focused on lawful and effective force application, constitutional requirements, de-escalation, self-defense, decision-making under pressure and proper documentation of force-related incidents.

The Sheriff’s Office congratulated Deputy Antonio Martinez on graduating from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in Camden. Martinez completed the 584-hour Basic Academy program.

Investigators opened one new felony investigation and one death investigation. One search warrant was executed in connection with a recent death, and three interviews were conducted regarding ongoing cases. Seventeen investigative conferences were also completed during the week.

The Marion County Detention Center booked 19 inmates, released 19 inmates and ended the week with a total population of 37.
