YELLVILLE, Ark. — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office released its weekly activity report for the week ending Dec. 12, detailing calls for service, arrests, investigations, and detention center activity.
According to the report, deputies responded to 80 calls for service during the week. Of those calls, deputies conducted four wellness checks and reported no domestic disturbances. Two misdemeanor arrests and two felony arrests were made.
Deputies assisted with or investigated five accidents and completed 30 incident reports. Bailiff duties accounted for a total of 18 hours during the reporting period. One deputy also completed 40 hours of field training.
Investigators opened three felony investigations and one death investigation during the week. In addition, investigators conducted 12 interviews related to ongoing cases and completed nine investigative conferences.
At the Marion County Detention Center, nine inmates were booked and 10 were released, leaving a total jail population of 36 inmates at the end of the week.
The sheriff’s office also reminded residents that the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign begins this weekend and runs through New Year’s Day. Law enforcement officers and deputies across the state will be increasing patrols to watch for impaired drivers.
Officials urge motorists to drive responsibly during the holiday season and to never allow someone to get behind the wheel while impaired, emphasizing that preventing impaired driving helps ensure families can safely celebrate the holidays together.
