The National Weather Service in Springfield has announced the forecast for the weekend, and it looks like the warm weather will be quickly giving way to winter cold and precipitation.
Record-high temperatures that were a major part of our 2025 Christmas season will be ducking out, giving us a reminder of what winter feels like in time for New Year’s.

As a result of this major shift in temperature, there is a strong chance of rain over the weekend, with a small chance of isolated strong-to-severe thunderstorms.
