Paulette spent her entire life in the Hartshorn and Summersville areas. After retiring from the sewing and manufacturing industry, she devoted her life to caring for and spending time with her family. She especially cherished time with her daughter and grandchildren. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed needlepoint sewing, reading her Bible, and spending time outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Vena Barton and Effner and Dollie Stringer; her parents, Elmer Barton and Pauline McGalliard; her brother, Tommy Barton; her father-in-law, Elmer Shoults; her mother-in-law, Audrey Shoults; four brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
