IZARD COUNTY, Ark. — The Izard County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a recent scam involving fraudulent video calls claiming to be associated with Publishers Clearing House.
According to the Izard County Sheriff’s Office, several individuals have reported receiving video calls displaying an ID of “PCH” along with a Gmail email address. During the calls, the caller claims the recipient has won a Publishers Clearing House prize and then begins requesting personal information.
Sheriff’s officials emphasized that these calls are scams and advised residents not to answer them. Anyone who receives a similar call is urged not to provide any personal or financial information.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that legitimate prize organizations do not contact winners through unsolicited video calls or request sensitive information in this manner.
Residents who believe they may have been contacted by scammers or who have shared information are encouraged to report the incident to local law enforcement.
