Marion County Man Faces Faces Evidence Tampering Charges

MARION, COUNTY, AR- Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports the arrest of JIMMY JAY LIVERETT, 49 YOA, of Yellville, on charges of Capital Murder, a Class “Y” Felony, Aggravated Robbery, a Class “Y” Felony, Abuse of a Corpse, a Class “C” Felony, and two  Counts of Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class “D” Felony.

The arrest stems from an investigation into the death of DENA ANDREWS, 73 YOA, at
a residence on Broad Rock Lane in the rural Lakeway area of Marion County.
ANDREWS was reported missing on 11/13/25 and later found deceased on 11/14/25
in a wooded area a short distance from her residence.

ANDREWS’ body was submitted to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner for an
autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. The Medical Examiner ruled
ANDREWS’ death as a homicide caused by a gunshot wound.

On 11/16/25, Investigators initially located and arrested LIVERETT at a motel in
Strafford, Missouri for the theft of ANDREWS’ vehicle. Further investigation and results
of testing of the evidence by the Arkansas State Crime Lab (ASCL) identified LIVERETT
as the suspect in her death.

An arrest affidavit for the arrest of LIVERETT was prepared for the above listed charges
and submitted to the Marion County Circuit Court. The affidavit was approved and a
warrant for his arrest was issued.

On 01/13/26, LIVERETT was taken into custody without incident and transported to
the Marion County Detention Center (MCDC) where he is being held without bond
pending his initial appearance in Marion County Circuit Court.
