The latest update from the National Weather Service has been released this morning regardining tonight’s storms, and those on the western sections of our listening area should be aware that the 3/5 risk area has expanded.
Small western sections of Douglas and Wright County are included in this category with the majority of the rest of the listening area within a solid 2/5 risk rating. Further southeast, toward Doniphan, the risk category drops to 1/5.
Flash flooding may also be an issue with these storms throughout most of the listening area, so plan your routes ahead of time and understand that certain low-water crossings may quickly become submerged.
Current estimations for the timing of these storms puts them in two rounds, with the first arriving in the area between 11pm and 4am, and the second round from 4am to 7am.
Lastly, another round of severe weather may be possible this coming Tuesday, giving us another day to watch.
