Featured Pet of The Day- Aussie looking for Forever Home

Back in mid-January, a Mini Australian Shepherd was spotted running terrified near Rockbridge Resort outside of Gainesville, MO. Despite being shared widely while he was on the run, no owner ever came forward.

About a month ago, a kind woman was finally able to safely catch him. Since then, she has taken great care of him and gotten him fully checked out by a vet. He is current on rabies and distemper vaccines and heartworm tested negative.

This sweet boy is believed to be around 5 years old and appears to have been well cared for at some point in his life. He truly acts like a gentleman in the home.

What we know about him:

• Leash trained

• Potty trained

• Loves car rides

• Knows several commands and even rolls over

• Very people-oriented and enjoys following his humans around

• Neutral with other dogs (will sniff but mostly keeps to himself)

• Good with older kids

He does have only one eye, but it doesn’t slow him down or affect his personality at all.

The finder cannot keep him much longer, so we are trying to help find him a safe placement as soon as possible.

He has not yet been tested with cats or very young children. The finder is having him neutered.
