Reuben James Jones, 18 years, 6 months, 3 days old, passed into his heavenly home on March 30, 2026, after a tragic accident at his home.

Reuben was born September 27, 2007, in Tower Hill, Illinois to Matthew and Barbara (Eccles) Jones.

Reuben lived faithfully as a Christian. Because of his faith in Jesus Christ, we rest in the hope of seeing him again. Reuben enjoyed memorizing Bible verses, learning Spanish (especially Bible verses and hymns), and caring for and managing his family’s livestock (including his own flock of sheep). God gave him special interests in maps/geography, deer hunting, airplanes, and recently renovating a 1952 8N Ford tractor.

Reuben accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He continued to grow spiritually as he grew physically (I Timothy 4:12). Reuben displayed a meek and quiet spirit that willingly obeyed authority. He played a special part in his church by learning to lead an afternoon Bible devotion and learning to conduct a song each week.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles R. Jones, Sr. and Harold and Autumn Eccles.

Reuben is survived by his parents Matt and Barb; siblings Caleb (Courtney), Abigail, Hannah, Levi, Esther, Ruthann, Sarah, and Nehemiah Jones; a niece Faith Jones; a grandmother Mary Jones; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind other beloved family, friends, and church family.

John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.”
