Robert Lee Stewart

Funeral Services for Robert Lee Stewart, Age 76 of Buffalo, Missouri will be held on Friday, April 17th, 2026 at The Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove, Missouri, beginning at 2PM. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 1PM. Burial will be in The Macomb Cemetery, Macomb, Missouri.

Robert “Bob” Lee Stewart, Sr. was the son of Bert Fletcher and Dorothy Mae (Carter) Stewart, born on October 14, 1950, in a nurse’s home south of Mountain Grove, Missouri. He departed this life on April 11, 2026, at Cox South in Springfield, Missouri.

Robert grew up in the Norwood community and graduated with the Norwood Class of 1968 where he was very close with his classmates. Robert enjoyed visiting with them at the class reunions, and most recently, at the nursing home.

He was united in marriage to Linda Marlene (Coffman) Stewart at the Corinth Baptist Church in Macomb, Missouri, on May 26, 1972. To this union, two children were born, Robert “Rob” Lee Stewart, Jr., and Natalie Michele (Stewart) Young.

He worked for MFA in Mansfield for three years. Then, he worked for Hutchens Industries in Mansfield for 40 years before his health deteriorated. At Hutch, he was in the Press Room and was their Bookkeeper.

Robert was a Christian and was saved at an early age. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church in Macomb, Missouri, where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and Sunday School Teacher. Later, he became a member of the Greene Valley Baptist Church in Hartville, Missouri, where he also served as a deacon. In the past six years, he was a part of the Legacy Baptist Church in Buffalo, Missouri, and helped Victer Gargus teach Sunday school in the nursing home. Robert served on the Macomb Cemetery Board for years.

Robert loved being President and Coach of the Little League, where his children were involved. He enjoyed hunting with his father, son, brother, brother-in-law, and son-in-law. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy, watching old westerns, and playing poker at the nursing home. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, and his pride and joy, great-grandson, Carter.

Preceding Robert in death are his parents, Bert and Dorothy Stewart; sister, Joyce Doss; brother-in-law, Ray Doss; and nephew, Stephen Doss.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda, of Buffalo, Missouri; his children, Rob Stewart and wife, Charlie, of Pleasant Hope, Missouri, and his daughter, Natalie Young and husband, Scott, of Buffalo, Missouri; six grandchildren, Zach, Candi, Kim, Caden, Allison, and Keira; and one great-grandson, Carter.

He is also survived by his brother, Jim Stewart and wife, Vicki, of Hartville, Missouri; brother-in-law, Johnny Coffman of Goldendale, Washington; sisters-in-law, Jeanine McClure of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Diane Coffman of Buffalo, Missouri, Lola Liddell of Goldendale, Washington, Margaret Carlock and husband, Eric, of Brownstown, Illinois, and Shelly Kerr and husband, Bruce, of Vandalia, Illinois; his Aunt Edith Wilson of Wichita, Kansas; and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.

The family wishes to thank Colonial Springs Nursing Home in Buffalo, Missouri, and Cox South Hospice and Home for their loving care and compassion for our loved one.
