Devoted Christian, Aunt, and Friend
Mary was born February 15, 1938, in Galloway to John and Laura (Williams) Shockley in the family home and departed this earthly journey on April 10, 2026, at Gainesville, Missouri.
Mary was a devoted Christian whose faith guided every step of their life. A lifelong believer, she found strength, purpose, and joy in their relationship with God, and she was a faithful member of their church community for many years. Her quiet but steady witness, kind heart, and unwavering trust in the Lord left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Though Mary never married or had children of their own, her nieces and nephews were a cherished presence in her life of extended family, friends, and neighbors. Mary had a special way of making others feel seen and cared for, often offering a listening ear, gentle advice, or a helping hand. Many considered her family in every sense of the word. Mary found joy in simple pleasures and lived a life marked by humility, kindness, and quiet service. Mary was a lifelong resident of Galloway and was very proud of her home. She was born in the house she lived in for the rest of her life. She worked in food service and retail in the Springfield area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings; Earl, Floyd, and Freda (Hall). She is survived by; Great niece Jama Berry (Todd Wilbanks), Great Nephews Shane Hall, Dustin Hall, Great-Great Nieces Kursten Hamm (Brad), Valerie Hall, Great-great nephews Westley Suter (Taylor), Hayden Hall, Great-Great-Great nieces and Nephews Colt, Cord & Coe Hamm, Gentry & Presley Suter, and numerous other friends and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined. where family and friends will gather to honor and remember a life rooted in faith and all the people’s lives she touched during her life.
