Press Release from the Department of Corrections:
At 7:16 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, resident Antoine Owens, DOC No. 163176,
confined at South Central Correctional Center, was pronounced dead at South Central
Correctional Center in Licking, Missouri.

Owens was a 58-year-old resident serving life without parole sentence for two counts of
first-degree murder from St. Louis County and one count of delivery/possession of
drugs to a correctional facility from Strafford County. Owens was received in the
Missouri Department of Corrections on Jan. 20, 1988.
Owens died of apparent natural causes.
