AVA, Mo. — An Ava woman was arrested while attending court May 5 after authorities obtained a warrant in connection with an identity theft investigation.
Amanda Young, 35, of Ava, was arrested by Lt. James Nelson after Nelson investigated a report that Young had allegedly taken out an online loan for $1,300 in another person’s name.
A warrant was issued for Young on charges of forgery, stealing over $750 and identity theft. Her bond was set at $10,000 cash only.
At the time of her arrest, Young was in court for a prior case from November 2025. In that case, she faced four felony charges of fraudulent use of a credit device and one misdemeanor stealing charge. Young was indicted by a Douglas County Grand Jury, and a warrant was issued Nov. 13, 2025, with bond set at $5,000 cash only. She was released on her own recognizance Nov. 25, 2025.
Authorities also reported that Young was arrested in November 2022 on 12 counts of forgery and one count of stealing over $750 in connection with the Douglas County Fair Board.
Young remains incarcerated in the Douglas County Jail.
All charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
