Drug, Warrant, and Alcohol-Related Arrests Keep Izard County Deputies Active

MELBOURNE, Ark. – The Izard County Sheriff’s Department has announced a series of arrests made over the past week, according to a release from Sheriff Charley Melton. Charges range from drug offenses and public intoxication to resisting arrest and domestic battery. All individuals listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

On July 21, three individuals from Calico Rock were taken into custody in connection with drug-related offenses:

  • Joseph Zane Goodson, 44, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, and maintaining a drug premises.

 

  • Florence Adkins, 42, faces the same charges as Goodson and also had an active warrant out of Izard County District Court for theft of property.

 

  • Darvell Nelson, 59, was arrested on a warrant from Izard County Circuit Court for two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and maintaining a drug premises. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance at the time of his arrest and is being held on a parole violation.

 

Other arrests for the week include:

  • Kevin Williams, 40, of Jacksonville, arrested July 22 for possessing or furnishing prohibited articles.

 

  • Larry Goodeaux, 75, of Oxford, taken into custody July 23 for obstructing governmental operations and resisting arrest.

 

  • Blake Chadwick, 33, of London, Arkansas, arrested July 23 on a warrant for failure to appear in Izard County Circuit Court.

 

  • Chad Redden, 48, of Horseshoe Bend, arrested July 24 for public intoxication, three counts of criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.

 

  • Mathieu Emerson, 39, of Horseshoe Bend, arrested July 24 for driving while intoxicated (DWI).

 

  • Tara Parham, 43, of Melbourne, arrested July 25 for public intoxication.

 

  • Phyllis Beavers, 56, of Melbourne, arrested July 27 for third-degree domestic battery.

 

  • Joseph Hanks, 31, of Calico Rock, arrested July 27 for violating conditions of bond related to a previous charge from Izard County Circuit Court.

 

The Sheriff’s Department reminds the public that all defendants are entitled to due process and remain innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
