West Plains, MO – Get Ready! The Paws For A Cause Pet Show & Festival Is Almost Here!

Mark your calendars—May 3 is just around the corner, and with it comes one of the most tail-wagging, treat-filled, family-fun events West Plains has ever seen! The Paws For A Cause Pet Show and Festival is happening at the West Plains Civic Center, and trust us, you don’t want to miss it.

Priority Pet Care – Make An Appointment

This event promises something for everyone—kids, adults, dog lovers, foodies, and, of course, your furry best friends!

The Main Event: The Dog Show

The fun kicks off at 9:45 a.m. with the Best Agility category and continues through seven exciting show categories. You’ll see pups show off their best tricks, costumes, cuteness, and coordination! Winners will be announced by 1:45 p.m., and the event officially wraps up by 2:00 p.m.

Want to enter your dog? You still can! Sign-ups are open now and on the day of the event. The sign-up table will be open throughout the day—just be sure to register before your chosen category begins. It’s just $10 per dog, and that includes entry into all categories!

Every dog is welcome, whether they’re seasoned pros or total first-timers. It’s all about fun and raising funds for a good cause.

The festival is just as exciting as the show itself! With over 40 vendors offering everything from handmade crafts and custom embroidery to local food trucks and baked goodies, there’s something for everyone.

Food lovers can grab a bite at:

  • KB’s Lemonade

  • Cosmic Cravings

  • Ree’s Creations

  • …and more delicious stalls!

Bring the kids for small carnival games (with prizes!), face painting, and a raffle table packed with pet goodies donated by C7 in West Plains, vendors, and individuals in West Plains. Best of all? Admission is FREE to attend, browse, eat, and enjoy!

All For a Good Cause

Every dollar raised—vendor fees, entry fees, raffles, and carnival games—goes straight to support Ozarks Pet Rescue and their mission to find homes for animals in need. You’ll even have the chance to meet adoptable pets from Ozarks Pet Rescue and Mountain Grove Animal Control at the meet-and-greet area!

Here are the categories and starting times!:

– Best Agility – starting at 9:45 (people can show up to sign up dogs and check out the agility course around 9:20ish or sooner, just don’t show up exactly at 9 so we can get it set up!)
– Best Tricks – starting at 10:45ish or sooner (depends on how many dogs run the agility course)
– Best Costume – starting at 11:15ish
– Dynamic Duo – starting at 11:45ish
– Prettiest Pup – starting at 12:30ish (so judges can have food for lunch)
– Adorable Adult – starting at 1:00ish
– Ugliest Dog (and proud of it!)- starting at 1:20ish
 Winners will be announced at 1:45 PM, with prizes handed out right after—so stick around to cheer on your favorites! 
Times can change depending on the category before it. People can sign up for categories that haven’t already been finished throughout the day. So if you only want to be in adorable adult you don’t have to be there all day if you don’t want to.
