4.0 magnitude earthquake shakes Poplar Bluff

Poplar Bluff, MO. – A 4.0 magnitude earthquake hit Poplar Bluff just before 9pm on Wednesday evening, with individuals as far as Memphis, Tennessee feeling the quake. Many in the area took to social media Wednesday night simply posting the word “Earthquake?”

Earthquakes of this magnitude are often felt, but usually don’t cause any significant damage. The geological event strattled the line between a weak and moderate earthquake.
