Governor Mike Kehoe issued an update July 2 on Missouri’s continuing disaster response and recovery efforts following months of severe storms and flooding that have impacted communities across the state throughout 2025.
“Our state team members have done an outstanding job this year, working shoulder to shoulder with local counterparts to aid Missouri families and businesses,” said Governor Kehoe. “With support from federal partners and volunteers, we are making meaningful progress in helping communities recover.”
On Monday, Kehoe signed Executive Order 25-27, extending Missouri’s State of Emergency through August 31, 2025. The order ensures continued support following additional flooding in southwest Missouri and builds on the initial declaration from March.
Key recovery milestones include:
- More than $22 million in FEMA and SEMA aid provided to over 4,600 families in the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County, and Scott County following the May 16 tornado and storms.
- The Missouri National Guard assisted with debris cleanup in St. Louis, hauling the equivalent of over 200 football fields’ worth of debris.
- Senate Bill 1, signed June 14, allocates $100 million to the Department of Public Safety to support recovery in St. Louis.
More than $3.8 million in FEMA/SEMA assistance has been provided to over 750 households impacted by the March 14–15 storms and wildfires in Bollinger, Butler, Camden, Carter, Franklin, Howell, Iron, Jefferson, Oregon, Ozark, Perry, Phelps, Reynolds, Ripley, St. Louis, Wayne, Webster, and Wright counties. President Trump approved Governor Kehoe’s federal Major Disaster Request for this disaster on May 21.
