From Baxter County Sherriff John Montgomery:
On June 20, 2025 Deputy Tanner Anderson received a tip from a concerned citizen of a sex offender who was living at an address and had not reported it to law enforcement. An investigation began and witnesses were interviewed. After the investigation, it was determined that 49 year old Robert Eugene Goertler had been living at 7114 Hwy 126 North, Unit #2 for approximately 5-months without notifying the Sheriff’s Office he had moved.
Robert Goertler was convicted in St. Joseph County, Michigan in 2012 of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the second degree and served time in prison.
Goertler has not been assigned a risk level by the State of Arkansas at this time.
Robert Goertler was arrested without incident at the residence in Midway and booked into the Baxter County Detention Center. He is being held on $15,000 bond pending his appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on June 23.
